Restored Circa 1905 Set of John Douglas Single Basin Taps

$35.82 $64.48
Description Here’s a rare set!  These were made by the John Douglas Company in Cincinatti Ohio and are the first set of actual valves that we’ve ever seen by John Douglas.  We do see John Douglas toilets fairly often, and we also see the occasional sink, but a set of restorable single basin taps are quite the find. This set does have some peculiarities.  First off, the inlet shanks are quite long at 4 1/2″ long.  They also use an oddball thread on the shank, so the semi-rigid bullnose (07-20) supply lines will have to be used.  Also, the spouts are quite short at 2 3/4″ from centerline of valve to tip of spout.  As sinks were used a bit differently back around 1900, this isn’t a surprise to us.  Folks used to wash their hair in the sink far more often back then, and it’s painful to hit one’s head on a faucet spout. This set may be best for the purists out there, but it was just way too cool to leave in our boneyard. One set only, polished Nickel finish
